 "Hi, my name is Strider. I have been on raw food since I arrived at my permanent home at 8 weeks old. I am four now. I never miss a meal and love to eat, well, everything. I never get ear or eye problems and have no allergies like some of my other friends. Everyone comments on how big I am and how beautiful my coat and teeth are. See, I am extra tall and have a big mouth so people notice my teeth. Oh, and good breath too!
I had to go to the vet once to be neutered and twice to remove foxtails, but luckily I only go for annual check ups since I’m so healthy. I am very happy and playful and my favorite thing is swimming, which I have heard is odd for a Bernese.

 “This is a picture of Hoppy’s first Christmas in the U.S. Hoppy is a rescue from Thailand who is now on the raw dog food diet. He was shot in one leg, has bullet fragments in one leg and possible arthritis. I read about the raw diet, talked with my vet & the staff at The Raw Connection. I was also horrified to learn that major dry kibble companies of leading brands use euthanized animals (dogs/cats) in their products.  "Hi. Trevor Dog here, reporting from behind the counter at The Raw Connection. When I first came to work here in September of 2007, I was unsure of a lot of things. Most people scared me, especially if they wore hats, and I was always afraid that the dried trachea would disappear, so I protected it with an intensity unfitting a shop dog.
Time heals wounds, my mom likes to say, and so it went with me. Eventually I learned that the trachea supply was almost never-ending and that when I went home my brother, Kohli, and our cousin, Tchotchka, and I would get something even better…RAW MEAT! And a different flavor each week! Over time I learned to love everyone who visited the store but especially my beloved Cookie Ladies who purchase a Carmel Barking Bakery cookie for me each and every time they come in. Aside from the obvious business perks, working at The Raw Connection is one of the best things to ever happen to me. Having eaten garbage as a stray on the streets of Modesto, I never would have imagined I would be eating the best for me, most tasty food available every day, twice a day. Nor could I have anticipated furthering my education through all the training classes offered here. Being a Border Collie mix, Agility is, of course, my favorite. Life for Trevor is definitely looking golden!"
 "Willie was rescued from the Monterey County shelter in October 2004. We started feeding him kibble and supplementing with cooked chicken and vegetables. He could not tolerate any of the various types of dog food we bought for him and we took him to the dermatologist who prescribed medications and a special prescription dog food. His allergies never got better -- he scratched himself constantly and his eyes were always watering. Then we heard about The Raw Connection and started Willie on the raw chicken with vegetables. His allergies have completely disappeared and he gained a little bit of weight too, which he needed to do. We have had Willie on this diet for almost three years and he is healthy and happy!"

"Kona Koffee at 5 monthes old had a skin problem. It wasn't an allergy to food but I had then switched to the Raw world. I have to admit I was very reluctant about the cost and benefits.  "I am the grateful owner of Pearl, a beautiful Australian Sheppard with two blue eyes. There is no question in my mind that Pearl would not be with us today if it weren't for Sarah and The Raw Connection.
Pearl first got started on raw foods when we found out she was allergic to wheat and grains and noticed a remarkable difference almost immediately. We switched our cat, Elsa, over to a raw kibble at the same time and have an extremely active and healthy feline as a result.
The biggest gift however, stems from an incident when Pearl became seriously ill in March of 2007. Through the efforts of Sarah, the caring community of dog owners, and the professionals that have shared their skills and knowledge via seminars and workshops hosted at The Raw Connection, Pearl survived.
I have always been a believer in raw food, and am more so today. Take it from Pearl & I, The Raw Connection is so much more than a store- it is a wealth of information, support, kindness, and professionalism. I doubt there is another store in the world like this one."
